Passage Migrant

I promised I would not love you.

Beautiful seabird, why do you stay by my side? I notice you.

Dear seabird, why do you kiss my cheek? My heart moves for you.

Lively seabird, you fly high and low, sometimes trying to disappear.

But my eyes never leave you. Through you, I see the blue behind you.

That day I looked back for you, and you were gone. My heart shook.

Then I knew this was truly farewell.

To love without gaining.

Worried seabird, why did you leave me? I looked for you for so long.

Blue seabird, why did you leave me? I stayed and could not wait you back.

The smell of the sea was fierce.

I swam far through that fierceness.

In the night I heard the sea whisper and the wind shout:

Stay or leave without attachment. Continue your road, child.

To love is already to gain.

I no longer wait.
